Yango University Wins Fujian Provincial Teaching Achievement Award (Special Prize)

The Fujian Provincial Department of Education has recently announced the winners of the 2024 Higher Education Teaching Achievement Awards. The project titled “Industry-Oriented, Career-Progressive, and Data-Driven: Innovation and Practice of the SCM Practical Teaching Model for Information Majors”, submitted by Professor Luo Chengli’s team from the School of Information Engineering at Yango University (team members: Da Xinyu, Cheng Yue, Zhong Chen, Lin Hong, Cheng Yongyong), was honored with the Special Prize for Undergraduate Higher Education. This marks a significant milestone, positioning Yango University’s teaching reform achievements at the forefront of the province.

The core of this award-winning achievement lies in the development of a novel practical teaching model for Emerging Engineering Education tailored to local application-oriented undergraduate institutions: the SCM Practical Teaching Model. Built on the principles of “Industry-Oriented, Career-Progressive, and Data-Driven,” the model ensures that students achieve 100% proficiency in “hardware mastery, strong programming, effective application, and innovative capability.” It is designed to cultivate future-ready, high-quality applied engineering talents in the information field.

The Higher Education Teaching Achievement Award is conferred upon individuals and institutions that have made outstanding contributions and achieved remarkable results in higher education teaching. It aims to further motivate educators to actively engage in teaching research and practice, deepen educational reform, strengthen foundational teaching infrastructure, and continuously enhance teaching quality and education standards.

The 2024 Fujian Provincial Teaching Achievement Awards underwent rigorous expert evaluation. A total of 150 undergraduate teaching achievements were recognized, including 31 Special Prizes, 53 First Prizes, and 66 Second Prizes.Yango University will leverage this recognition to amplify the exemplary role of this achievement, intensify efforts in teaching reform, and persistently improve the quality of talent cultivation. The university remains committed to nurturing highly skilled, application-oriented professionals to support regional economic and social development.
