In 2001, Yango University was established by Fuzhou University, a national “double first-class” construction university and a key university in the national “211 project”. Since its founding, the university has always adhered to the original intention of “establishing a renowned institution over a hundred years, educating the leading figures of the era.” It has endeavored to develop a unique approach to education with an emphasis on practical skills and aims to become a benchmark for a “national first-class applied university.” The institution is dedicated to continuous development and success, with a focus on the growth and achievements of its students, faculty, and the college itself.
After years of development, the university has made significant progress. In 2017, it was accredited as a master’s degree-granting institution, and in 2022, it was chosen for the cultivation project of first-class applied construction universities in Fujian Province. It has also been approved for three national first-class professional points. The university’s teaching, scientific research, and educational standards have improved rapidly, and all key indicators are now ranked at the forefront of private universities in China.
Yango University operates under a “one campus, two districts” model, covering approximately 1,700 acres. The Fuzhou campus is situated in Mawei, Fujian, known as the birthplace of modern science, technology, education, and industry in China. The Fuzhou Binhai Campus is set to officially open in September 2024. Currently, there are over 18,000 full-time students enrolled at the university.

The Subject Setting of Yango University
Yango University enrolls students from 18 provinces and cities across the country. The university comprises 11 secondary colleges and offers 42 undergraduate majors across eight major disciplines, including engineering, science, management, literature, law, and art. Three majors, including computer science and technology, electronic information engineering, and e-commerce, have been selected as national first-class undergraduate major construction sites. Five majors, such as finance, law, arts, civil engineering, and business administration, have been chosen as provincial first-class majors. Moreover, Two disciplines, business administration, and information and communication engineering, were selected as the applied disciplines for construction in Fujian universities. Civil engineering and public administration were also chosen as the disciplines applied to cultivation in the province.
The university has appointed nearly 30 national and provincial high-level talents to lead various disciplines, including scholars who receive special allowances from the State Council and members of the Teaching Guidance Committee of the Ministry of Education. The faculty consists of more than 700 full-time teachers, with 80.89% holding master’s or doctoral degrees, and nearly 50% are classified as “double-position” teachers.

The International Cooperation of Yango University
Yango University is actively advancing its internationalization efforts and has established academic training, exchanges, and collaborations with over 20 universities in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, and other countries.
The university has partnered with institutions such as Coventry University in the UK, Alliant International University in the US, International University of Applied Sciences of Bad Honnef in Germany, Institute of Business and Hotel Management in Switzerland, and the University of Newcastle in Australia to offer “3+1” and “2+2” double bachelor’s degree and undergraduate degree programs. Additionally, the university has collaborative programs with universities like Hiroshima University in Japan and Newcastle University in Australia for bachelor’s and master’s degree study abroad programs. It has established friendly exchange and cooperation relationships with many universities in Taiwan, such as Feng Chia University, Shih Hsin University, Ming Chuan University, Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology, and selects and sends faculty members and students to Taiwan for training and study visits. In 2021, the Ministry of Education approved the cooperation between Yango University and the Institut Supérieur de Gestion (ISG) of France in organizing the undergraduate education project in e-commerce. Also, the qualification of undergraduate student enrollment in Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan was approved in 2022.
