The School of Law was established in 2001 with an undergraduate program of Law. It aims to cultivate 'high-quality applied legal talents” and is characterized by “highlighting the cultivation of students’ practical legal capabilities”. It is a first - class major and a characteristic major in Fujian Province.

The School of Law has a strong faculty. Seventy percent of the teachers are “dual-qualified and dual-capable” teachers with either a lawyer’s practicing license or experience as a judge. The students are of high quality, and the school enjoys a good social reputation. For consecutive years, the admission rate for the first-choice applicants has been 100%. The admission scores within the province have ranked first among all majors in the university for many years. The freshmen enrollment rate is among the highest. The School has won the title of “Advanced Unit in Admissions Work” of Yango University for consecutive years. The one-time comprehensive pass rate of the National Unified Legal Professional Qualification Examination is as high as 46.95%, ranking among the top in similar institutions in the province. To date, more than a hundred students have been admitted to master’s and doctoral programs at well - known domestic and foreign universities such as Renmin University of China, East China University of Political Science and Law, Southwest University of Political Science and Law, Xiamen University, Fuzhou University, and Cardiff University in the UK. In recent years, the employment rate of students has reached over 97%, and the high-quality employment rate ranks among the top of all majors in the university.

The School has been given the honorary titles of “Fujian People’s Government Legislation Grassroots Contact Point”, “Fujian Advanced Collective for Law in Universities”, “Fujian Most Beautiful Law-preaching Person”, “148” Rule of Law Volunteer Service Platform”, “Fuzhou Advanced Collective for Rule of Law Propaganda and Education”, and “Fuzhou Demonstration Point of Rule of Law and Lawfulness” by the provincial and municipal government units. It has won awards such as the “Top 100 Projects of ‘Youth Marching for the Rule of Law in China’” by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, the Gold Award in the Fujian Provincial New - Era Civilized Practice Volunteer Service Project Competition, the Silver Award in the Fujian Provincial College Students' Entrepreneurship Plan Competition of the “Challenge Cup”, and the Fujian Provincial “Entrepreneurial Star”.
