Introduction to the Metaverse and New Media College

Metaverse and New Media College follows the educational philosophy of integrating production and education, and practical teaching. The college operates programs across the industrial chain and focuses on developing application innovators, content creators, and marketing entrepreneurs for the meta-universe era. It offers five majors: software engineering, digital media technology, radio and television programming and directing, network and new media, and advertising.

In the field of network security, Associate Dean Lin Wei is a leading expert in non-contact Tesla system network security cracking. He has held positions as the head of security operations at ByteDance, the head of the 360 Network Attack and Defense Laboratory, and a founding member of the renowned security community T00ls.net. Additionally, he has been a member of the Ministry of Public Securitys Protecting the Net expert group for three consecutive years.

Regarding virtual reality, Metaverse and New Media College has led numerous large-scale virtual online exhibition halls and digital twin projects. It has also collaborated with companies such as Netdragon Network and other meta-universe related enterprises to establish talent orientation training, project cooperation, and joint technology research and development.

In the field of 3D animation, the college possesses the capability to oversee the entire process of 3D animation production and contributed to several high-profile 3D animation projects supported by Tencent, Youku, and other platforms.

In the field of film and television, Metaverse and New Media College has provided video content production services for numerous enterprises and institutions, including NetEase, Sohu, NetDragon, Pupumall, and CITIC Bank.

In the field of new media marketing, the college has successfully incubated live e-commerce projects such as Roasted Eel Father and Son and Dancing Claw University Hall, which have annual sales of 7 million RMB.

Since 2022, the college has completed over 200 social service projects in the fields of virtual reality, technology development, video production, new media operation, and live broadcast e-commerce. Students have achieved more than 30 awards in various disciplinary competitions at all levels, including the Third Prize of the National College Students Digital Media Science and Technology Works and Creativity Competition and the Top Ten Team of the National Anchor E-commerce Competition. Additionally, films created by both teachers and students have garnered numerous domestic and foreign awards, such as the Best Film Award at the Rome Short Film Festival, the Best Director Award at the Tokyo International Short Film Festival, and the Nominee Award at the MUST Chinese Short Film Festival. These educational and teaching accomplishments have been recognized and reported by reputable mainstream media outlets such as Guangming Daily, Peoples Daily, and Xinhua News Agency.
