“Tell the story of non-heritage in English and promote Chinese culture.” English Speech Contest Successfully Concludes

  The College of International Education organized the second English Speech Contest for the students of e-commerce (Sino-foreign Cooperative) major on May 24th at 14:00. The contest aimed to foster a conducive English learning environment, enhance students’ English speaking proficiency, and provide a platform for students to demonstrate their capabilities. The theme of the contest was “Telling Stories of Non-heritage in English and Inheriting Chinese Culture”. The event took place in the Auditorium on the 2nd floor of the library and was open to students majoring in e-commerce (Chinese-foreign cooperation). The esteemed panel of judges included Prof. Yi Munong, Dean of the College of International Education, Dr. Li Jin, and Prof. Martina, both teachers of the E-commerce (Sino-foreign cooperation) major.

  A total of 12 contestants were shortlisted and participated in the competition. They took turns going up on stage to share their stories, each focusing on the theme of non-heritage culture. The contestants were well-prepared and showed their unique perspectives. The speech contest served as a platform not just for English expression, but also as a way for young people to express their thoughts on preserving non-heritage culture and their commitment to promoting Chinese traditional culture. At the end of the competition, In the end, one contestant won the first prize, one contestant won the second prize, one contestant won the third prize, three contestants won the excellence award. The teachers presented the contestants with honorary certificates and prizes.
