The 13th POCIB National Student' Foreign Trade Proficiency Competition, organized jointly by the International Trade Society of the Ministry of Commerce and the National Teaching Guidance Committee for Vocational Education in Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation, concluded on April 19th. The team of Business English majors from Yango University’s grade of 2021 achieved great success, with all 20 team members winning individual awards. These awards included 1 first prize, 7 second prizes, and 12 third prizes, achieving a “Grand Slam” for the team. Additionally, the team’s leading teachers, Ye Yunqing, Chen Jiahui, and Zheng Linxin, were honored with the Excellence Award for Instructors. The competition results placed our university at the forefront of the province’s universities.
295 colleges and universities participated in the competition, with 886 teams and 8,860 players. The competition covered various aspects of international trade practice, including foreign business consultations, trade terms and settlement methods, import and export commodity costing and quotation, profit maximization decisions and techniques, and import and export trade document production. The competition is considered to be one of China’s heavyweight cross-border e-commerce business competitions.
Moving forward, Yango University will continue to focus on real-world scenarios and project-based teaching. We aim to strengthen the application-oriented reform of the business English major, cultivate students’ practical and innovative capabilities, and contribute to the development of new productivity standards.
