On the morning of January 23, the 6th Innovation-Oriented Development Conference of Fuzhou New District was held. During the conference, 50 units submitted 67 innovative cases. After the preliminary and semi-final rounds, 12 excellent cases were chosen to compete for the finals. The case from Yango University, titled “Meta-Universe Xinchuang Education Overall Solution based on Open-Source Harmony and Artificial Intelligence Technology” won the third prize, the only one from universities.
The demonstration cases at the Innovation-Oriented Development Conference cover various fields, including the digital economy, industrial construction, integration of Fujian and Hong Kong development, and green ecology. These cases comprehensively demonstrate the latest achievements in the innovation and development of the New District. Luo Chengli, the dean of the Industrial Internet College at our University, attended the meeting and shared a case.
“The autonomous and controllable operating system of Meta-Universe Xinchuang Education is based on open-source Harmony and Artificial Intelligence Technology. It has been incorporated into the ‘14th Five-Year Plan’. The faculty and student team from Yango University independently developed the first low-code development and programming platform to enable batch commercial use of OpenHarmony in China. This platform supports the use of self-developed artificial intelligence hardware boxes. It integrates AI, AR, VR, blockchain technology, and meta-universe scenarios, broadening the boundaries of STEAM+AI maker education. This initiative leads the frontier of Basic Education with future technology and cultivates highly skilled scientific and technological talents.
The software distribution version of Meta-Universe Xinchuang Education has passed the compatibility assessment of OpenHarmony 3.0 LTS version and won the Excellent Product award at the 24th China International High-tech Fair. The product has been provided to more than 50 schools across the country, offering open-source Harmony artificial intelligence teaching aids kit, community lessons, after-school services, competition guidance and support services. It serves over 100,000 primary and secondary school students. The product is the only STEAM manufacturer to participate in the 2023 Huawei Developers Conference and has been integrated into the Huawei K12 education product system, receiving high recognition and attention.
